Just A Hill?

Today’s Photo:  Just A Hill?

I had the pleasure of spending a few hours at the Manassas Battlefield Park.  I spent time on Henry Hill and then went to the stone house.  In our times of excess and overabundance, it is hard to believe only 150 years ago, your average american lived in these small houses.  One of the most interesting things I learned while visiting was that most battles had two names.  First Manassas or Bull Run has to be one of the most famous of the battles with two names.  I learned that the South named battles after nearby cities or towns and the North named them after creeks, rivers or other natural object nearby.  This hill is located just beyond the Stone House if you look at it from Henry Hill.  I can imagine the soldiers cresting this hill an seeing a wall of bayonet tipped rifles just a few yards away.  It is crazy to think they would have just stood there in lines firing at each other.
