Today’s Photo: Fireworks Over Lake Allatoona
It has been several years since my schedule has allowed me to make it to the Allatoona Yacht Club fireworks display. I made it to the shore of the lake a little later than I wanted and had to settle for a view further from the parking lot. However, I was still able to get a good angle to watch the show and get a few good shots as well.
Today’s Photo: Jasper Fireworks
This year was the first time I went to see the fireworks in Jasper Georgia. I can say that for a small town, I was impressed. My guess is that we just had the perfect spot to watch from and good friends to share it with, but the fireworks were good too.
Today’s Photo: Savannah City Hall
I took off one evening after walking around River Street and made my way through several of the parks just beyond Bay Street. I went through Johnson Square and found this angle to shoot City Hall. Traffic was not real heavy, but timed just right that it took forever to get this shot without cars on Bull Street.
Today’s Photo: Stars over Amicalola
I took the family camping for a night at Amicalola Falls State Park a couple weekends ago. They slept in tents while I tried out the new hammock that I’m using for my hike through the Great Smoky Mountains. Well, I decided to spend a little time shooting the stars over the campsite while I waited for a meteor shower. The hammock was too comfortable and I did not make it late enough for the meteor shower, but I did get a couple shots before crashing.
Today’s Photo: Cedarcrest Church
Architecture has a great chance to be beautiful any time of the day. I happen to think dusk is one of the best times to photograph architecture. The lighting has a tendency to accent textures of the buildings and lights are usually on. That was how I found Cedarcrest Church just before dusk fully set in. I snapped a few around the church and ended with this shot.
Today’s Photo: Lenny’s Sub Shop
When I am out taking photos, I have a tendency to forget to eat. It’s not that I’m not hungry, it’s that there are too many other important things going on and I don’t have time. One evening walking around the Market Square and Downtown in Knoxville, we decided to make a quick stop at this little hole in the wall sandwich shop. I am bad about trying to find these types of shops. Sometimes they are good and sometimes they are bad. This one happened to be great. I recommend it to anyone in the Knoxville area.
Today’s Photo: Empty Streets
Just before Christmas was the Night of Lights in Jasper Georgia. It is the annual tree lighting and it is a fairly large event. However, it was extremely cold this year and people were only around for just a little while. That made for some empty streets at the end of the event.
