Hood Ornament

It seems all I have time for lately are time lapses.  I took one the other night of the Leonid meteor shower.  I only got a couple meteors because the moon was too bright.  However, due to the location I was shooting, I got a pretty cool looking time lapse of the moon.  I also shot a time lapse of sunset at the same location I shot Another Star Time Lapse.  I took this one as an HDR and am working through the processing.

There have been so many cool hood ornaments over the years.  Whether it is …Continue Reading Here…

The Silhouette

Today’s Photo:  The Silhouette

It only takes a few minutes browsing this site to find out that I am partial to HDR photos.  If you dig hard enough you will find an occasional shot which has not been processed using the HDR technique.  Most of the time, these photos …Continue Reading Here…

The Guarded Gate

I have not been paying attention to what meteor showers were coming up and then all the sudden, I was told that I needed to take a time lapse.  The peak of the Leonid Meteor shower is at about midnight on the 17th.  I set up the time lapse and was waiting to make sure it was taking the photos well when I saw one during the first exposure.  Hopefully it will turn out and I will get more.

I ran across this gate the other day driving down the road.  There are no trees near this …Continue Reading Here…

The Engine

Today’s Photo:  The Engine

It is amazing the amount of work that is put into some of these classic cars.  Most of the ’57 Chevy and some of the others have Corvette engines in them.  This was one of the most unique cars I saw at a local car show.  In fact, this is one …Continue Reading Here…

Aquarium Center

Today’s Photo:  Aquarium Center

I have always loved the Tennessee Aquarium.  Situated in Downtown Chattanooga on the Tennessee River, this has been a great attraction for the city.  It is amazing how much just having this has revived this area of Chattanooga.

When you enter the aquarium, you travel a very long escalator to the top …Continue Reading Here…

The Window

Today’s Photo:  The Window

I am on a mission to find some old abandoned buildings.  I have found one that I have driven by numerous times.  In fact, the first time I was able to stop and take photos of it was in April, The Old Building.  However, I was able to stop there again over the weekend.  This time, I paid a little more attention to the details of the building instead of just the whole thing.

Today’s Photo:  Another Star Time Lapse

I took this the other night with about a quarter moon.  Just a little light from the moon gave it the extra umph I thought.  For anyone who wants to try this, I shot it at ISO 3200, f 3.5, 18mm, 20 second exposure and then put it together with VirtualDub.  Just before this I shot an HDR time lapse of the sunset.  Talk about a bear to process.

Tail Lights

I took another time lapse of the stars the other night.  I put it on SmugMug and am trying to get it to work with WordPress.  Hopefully that will be tomorrows post.

Today’s Photo:  Tail Lights

Since I posted a photo of an old car several days ago, I thought I would put one up of some car detail.  This was from a ’57 (I think) Chevy.  Having gone to several car shows this year, I thought the details on this one were great.  I had not seen tail lights like these before.

Lines

Today’s Photo:  Lines

I found this in front of the Tennessee Aquarium.  There are several pedestrian type bridges.  Well, not really bridges, but raised viewing areas?  These are all around the grounds and underneath there are usually benches.  I thought this one was neat because the different colors of concrete.  I think I am going to go back and take a few more shots here in the future.  For me these have a lot of potential.

Corsair

Today, November 11, is Veterans Day in the United States.  I would like to say thank you to all the men and women that have maintained the freedom that allow me to post what I want.

Today’s Photo:  Corsair

Ever since I was little, I have always been amazed with flight.  I loved to watch birds gliding through the air, not to mention watching airplanes and all other manner of flying things.  It is so hard to believe …Continue Reading Here…
