Sonoraville Baptist

Today’s Photo:  Sonoraville Baptist

Continuing with the Sunday church series, this is Sonaraville Baptist church.  This was one of the first churches I photographed.  Of course it was during one of those drives where I had to make a sudden turn around among many exclamations …Continue Reading Here…

Are you on Pintrest?  That seems to be the new cool fad for this week on the net.  I must confess, I have not drunk the CoolAid (I wonder how many remember what that is?) and have never used pintrest.  However, my wife is completely hooked and spends a fair amount of time pinning and re-pinning, I think that is right, everything she can find.  So, having said all that, I ran across a comment where one of my photos showed up on pintrest.  The original is the Freer Gallery of Art.

The Visitor Center (Chickamauga Battlefield)

Today’s Photo:  The Visitor Center (Chickamauga Battlefield)

I took this photo just outside the visitor center for the Chickamauga National Battlefield Park, or you can just read the wall to find out.  Anyway, it was very rainy and had a good bit of cloud cover, but it was some of the most wired formations I have seen.  I was trying for a little better self portrait in the window, but did not want to get so close that I missed the cannon.

Wrong, Just Plain Wrong!

Today’s Photo:  Wrong, Just Plain Wrong!

I ran across this at Old Car City.  I know, it’s from a glorified junkyard remade into beautifully rusted out old piles of junk.  That does not change the feeling of despair and grieving at all the potential that was just set out in the yard to rust.  When I ran across …Continue Reading Here…

Power Lines and Clouds

Today’s Photo:  Power Lines and Clouds

I have found lots of buildings in rural Georgia.  The one problem I find, is that most of them have these ugly power lines leading to them through the most interesting angles from which to shoot (with a camera, not a gun) the building.  I have used the power …Continue Reading Here…

For The Glory of Sport

Today’s Photo:  For “The Glory of Sport”

While walking Centennial Olympic Park, I ran across many little statues, fountains and waterfalls tucked all around the park.  I found this in an obscure corner and almost walked by it.  There are so many other things going on around this …Continue Reading Here…

The Alley

Today’s Photo:  The Alley

I have mentioned in the past how friendly and atmosphere Chattanooga has.  There are very few cities that I would walk around and not be worried about getting mugged, Chattanooga is one.  Just as an example, this is one of the alley …Continue Reading Here…

What the Future Holds

Today’s Photo:  What the Future Holds

I had no idea what to write about tonight when I sat at the computer.  In fact, I started on something completely different; you will see that in coming days.  This is what I finally settled on…  I feel like I have sat on the brink of turmoil and no one knows what the future holds.  It is time to make investments into our future and commitments to our children’s futures.

I took this shot and had in mind something very different.  It is one shot, taken at just the right time as this storm passed.  Yes, there were amazing thunderheads to the left and almost clear calm skies to the right.  Was this reading a book for me?  I don’t know.  Surely things happen for a reason, but no person knows what the future holds.

The Church at Liberty Square

Today’s Photo:  The Church at Liberty Square

A while back, my wife suggested that I begin a series on Sundays of churches.  I have slowly, but surely, begun gathering photos of churches that I have run across.  However, the one I wanted to capture most was where we attend, The Church at Liberty Square.  I go everywhere [Continue Reading…]

Liberty Bell

Today’s Photo:  Liberty Bell

I spent a lot of time on the square in Marietta, Georgia, growing up.  It has changed a lot since then, but it is still the same.  Have you ever felt that way about some place?  I played on the train which is set up as a slide and for the kids to play on.  It was pretty neat to watch my children playing there also.  One of the things I did not remember was the Liberty Bell which is along the east side of the park.  It made for some great night time shots.  I was just glad the wind stopped for just a second that I could get the flag too.

Handled

Today’s Photo:  Handled

Today’s round brings another shot from Old Car City USA.  I ran across this attached to what I think used to be a Chevy Belair.  What year, I have no idea.  I thought it mad for some good shots.  It was two tone, red (rust) and blue.  I spent …Continue Reading Here…
