Sunrise on the Creek

Today’s Photo: Sunrise on the Creek

This is another morning sunrise shot on a creek near home.  The road runs right by this little waterfall.  Every time I drive by here, I want to stop and take photos.  Maybe I will make time one day soon.

Burning the Fog

Today’s Photo: Burning the Fog

I ran across this cow the other day just before sunrise.  It was unaffected by my presence and let me get w few shots just before sunrise.  Maybe he was just waiting for the sun to burn off the fog in the valley below him?

Nascar Anniversary

Today’s Photo: Nascar Anniversary

In 1998 Nascar celebrated its 50th anniversary.  What better way to celebrate that than add a little touch to a classic car.  I found this added to the gear shift commemorating the 50th at a car show in Cartersville Georgia.

Spring at the Cabin

Today’s Photo: Spring at the Cabin

This has been the first year in many that we have had a true spring.  Most years it goes straight from winter to summer.  This gradual change has given me an opportunity to capture a local cabin for three seasons now.  I have Fall, Winter and Spring.  Hopefully, Summer this year will lend itself to making the last photo.

Peter Pan at the Grand

Today’s Photo: Peter Pan at the Grand

Downtown Cartersville hold an old theater called the Grand.  A couple weekends ago, we were walking around and noticed that they were showing Peter Pan.  I briefly thought about stopping and watching the show, but then I noticed that it was intermission and did not think that would be a good time to start watching.  Instead, I stopped for a shot of the theater goers lingering outside.

Motion

Today’s Photo: Motion

I am always intrigued by how some of the settings on a camera can be used to capture motion in a two dimensional photo.  By simply slowing down the speed at which the camera takes the photo, you can capture what happens during more than just a split second of time.  Sometimes, you can even capture minutes worth of time and tons of motion.  This one is just .6 seconds long and look at the amount of movement in the water during that small time frame.

Midtown Atlanta

Today’s Photo: Midtown Atlanta

Another shot from my short walk around midtown Atlanta.  One of my favorite types of photos are the light trails from vehicle tail lights.  I hope that the city of Atlanta put a camera size hole in the fence on the south side of the 17th street bridge.  There is a great angle to get the Atlanta skyline.  Until then, this will have to suffice for that location.  I will have to share the shots of the building near the middle that looks like two sails bending toward each other sometime soon.

Black Bear Under the Bridge

Today’s Photo: Black Bear Under the Bridge

There is a small section of downtown Cartersville that is called Under the Bridge.  There are all kinds of shops and restaurants, literally under a bridge.  This is the Black Bear Lounge.  I think they were having an American Legions Riders meeting.

On Top of the World

Today’s Photo: On Top of the World

This statue is in front of the Boys and Girls Club of America headquarters on Peachtree Street in Atlanta.  I was having tons of fun taking photos around this area and ran across this one.  I had to wait a couple minutes for my turn, but I think it was worth it.  This status is only a few feet tall, so I had to lay down to get this angle.  I got a few odd looks for it.  It’s all in a days work.

Visual proof that if you work hard there is no limit to what you can do.  Even making it on top of the world.

Mom

Today’s Photo: Mom

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there.  It is a special day for the one that carried and protected you for months before you were brought into the world.  It’s a good day to take a moment and thank them for just being Mom.  So, Happy Mother’s Day.
