Multiple Personalities

Today’s Photo:  Multiple Personalities

On the north edge of Atlanta is the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.  It encompasses about 50 miles worth of the river and some of the surrounding area part of that area is called Sope Creek.  There are old ruins of a paper mill right along the creek with many door and window frames still intact.  I decided to have  little fun.

Orchestral Orbs

Today’s Photo:  Orchestral Orbs

One section of the Garden Lights at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens were the Orchestral Orbs.  They were globes set up all around the Great Lawn and choreographed to Christmas music to change colors.  I tried several times to get some good shots of all the orbs, but the exposure was too long to get the background lit also.  When you mix color changing objects in a photo, you get the sum of their colors…white.  I shortened the exposure time significantly to get this one and retain the colors.

Admiring the Tree

Today’s Photo: Admiring the Tree

This was one of my favorite shots from the Garden Lights exhibit.  When we first went by this, the tree was fabulous, but it was so crowded.  We finished walking around and I wanted to get a good shot of this.  The only problem was that the rain had picked up and we almost went back to the car.  I am extremely glad that I decided to go back.  The rain and the fact it was only about 20 minutes from closing made for a beautiful scene.  As we entered the Twinkling Terrace and looked down the walkway to the Orchestral Orbs, I was greeted by this sight.  The couple waited forever, it was like they were waiting for me to get the perfect photo.

 Project 52:

One of the projects that I have wanted to do for a while has been a project 365.  I have come to the realization that it is not a practical goal, so I have decided to start a project 52 instead.  One photo a week for 52 weeks.  In order to make it different that my daily photo blog, I have set themes for each weekly photo.  Drop by the project 52 site and let me know what you think.  Also, anything worth doing is worth sharing, so leave a comment here or on the project 52 site if you would like to share this adventure and your weekly photos to the world.

From the Water it Comes

Today’s Photo:  From the Water it Comes

For the beginning of 2013, I bring you the last adventure from 2012.  I spent the evening with my family and friends at the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s Garden Lights display.  When I was planning it, I did not know how much fun it was going to be, nor how beautiful the garden would be decorated in Christmas lights.  This shot is of the fountain in the middle of the Levy Parterre.

Googie Burger

In the middle of Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta is a little place called Googie Burger.  I have a habit of finding these little out of the way holes in the wall.  Usually they turn out pretty good.  Sometimes, they are …Continue Reading Here…

World of Coke

Today’s Photo:  World of Coke

Coke is one of the worlds oldest soft drinks.  So, it would not be to hard to assume that somewhere there would be a World of Coke.  I mean, there is a “world” for everything and the “world” for Coke is in …Continue Reading Here…

An Olympic Monument

Today’s Photo:  An Olympic Monument

I found this monument tucked into the corner of Centennial Olympic Park.  I have not idea what it is supposed to represent.  Usually I am pretty good deciphering what the individual elements of a monument are and what they are …Continue Reading Here…
