Sunset at the Gate

Today’s Photo:  Sunset at the Gate

I missed the sunset the other day, but I was able to make it to a good spot for some shots just after.  The sun was way below the horizon and just the smallest color was glowing like a line and the clouds were really moving across the sky.  I took my first shots before …Continue Reading Here…

Almost There

Today’s Photo:  Almost There

Sunrise and sunset are two favorite times for me to take photos, along with almost every other photographer out there.  The reason is the quality of light.  That leads to all kinds of interesting discussions.  I got this shot along one …Continue Reading Here…

300…

Today marks my 300th post.  Wow, I can’t believe I made it this far.  Only 65 to make a complete 365 (66 for a year, since this is leap year).  Well, here is to the next 66 and many years more.

 Around the Bend

Today’s Photo:  Around the Bend

I love to explore.  I think that is one of the things about me that dove tails perfectly with my passion for photography.  I am always looking for an adventure and what ever I can find around the next bend.  I live in the country, but it …Continue Reading Here…

Winter Skies

Today’s Photo:  Winter Skies

A fellow photographer, Tim Stanley, posted the other day about what he likes about winter.  I would have to concur that winter skies are “Like an artist’s canvas, the beautiful brush strokes blend into one another, creating …Continue Reading Here…

Indecision

I had a hard time deciding what photo to post tonight.  It was a toss up between a sunset and this.  I finally made up my mind when I had to ride the four wheeler out to the gazebo…in the pouring rain.  It has rained hard here before, but I don’t think it has rained this hard for this long since I have lived here.
The Perfect Storm

Today’s Photo:  The Perfect Storm

I took this shot a long time ago.  Somewhere around 8 – 9 years ago with my first digital camera.  It was an HP Photosmart 320 which I got from my wife for Christmas.  There was a massive storm front, complete with tornados, moving in.  There was a perfect …Continue Reading Here…

Chattanooga Sunset

Today’s Photo:  Chattanooga Sunset

I took this shot of the Chattanooga skyline at sunset in October.  A few minutes later, I got another shot of the Chattanooga Skyline at Dusk.  It is amazing how much just a few minutes can change the way a complete scene looks.  From warm …Continue Reading Here…

The Distant Quarry

Today’s Photo:  The Distant Quarry

I am a man of many different hobbies.  Of course, the most obvious is photography, but this is the most tame of them (sometimes not).  I like just about any kind of “adventure” sport you can dream up.  From rock climbing to …Continue Reading Here…

North Georgia Sunset

Today’s Photo:  North Georgia Sunset

For me there is something magical about seeing the moment when the sun first appears or begins to set.  Whenever I am out at this time of day, whether it is morning or evening, I try to stop and just …Continue Reading Here…

Thanksgiving Sunset

Today’s Photo:  Thanksgiving Sunset

I ate too much food for thanksgiving, but fortunately that was after I had some time to work of photos.  This is one I took from a couple of day’s ago.  Sunsets are finally getting better more frequently.

The Silhouette

Today’s Photo:  The Silhouette

It only takes a few minutes browsing this site to find out that I am partial to HDR photos.  If you dig hard enough you will find an occasional shot which has not been processed using the HDR technique.  Most of the time, these photos …Continue Reading Here…
