Lack of Time

So, I took vacation and then the world fell apart.  Between cut internet lines and getting children to school, I have lost this past month and have had the worst time keeping up with posts.  I’m hoping that it will start getting back to normal now.

I’m sure that when you live by the ocean, you take it for granted.  I know that living in the mountains, I take them for granted.  So, when I get a chance to go to the beach, I like to spend time relaxing and just enjoying it.  Not that I get to do much of that with two children.  This was not one of those times.  Right before this, I took a stingray barb to the leg.  I lived and did not let it get in my way of getting some good shots.  Now I know the feeling people get when vacations attack.

Around and Around

The most prominent feature of any fair is the ferris wheel.  It is big, spins around and usually has cool lights on it.  Near the center of Pier Park at Panama City Beach, they have many amusement rides including this ferris wheel.  Not much beat moving lights for a long exposure photo.

Dropping In

Visiting the Bay County Pier at Panama City Beach was fun.  One of the things I have not tried has been surfing, but I was able to spend a little time watching a few people catching waves coming in by the pier.  The waves were not too big, but it was fun to watch.

It has been several years since I took a vacation with the family and traveled anywhere.  We decided to go to Panama City Beach this summer.  With the exception of a small hiccup, it went well.  This was the only real good sunset from the week, but the clouds the rest of the week turned out great.  This is the M.B. Miller County Pier that is situated on Front Beach Road in Panama City Beach.

One of my favorite restaurants in Panama City Beach Florida is Pompanos.  Other than the food, the setting is fabulous.  It sits overlooking a small pond that is covered in lily pads.  I stopped one night took a couple shots looking across the pond to Pompanos.

When I was a little, I went on a family vacation to Disney World in Orlando.  I remember that part of that vacation, we went to see Cape Canaveral.  I don’t remember if we went to the beach while we were there.  Several years ago, I was in that area and decided to stop by Cocoa Beach for a little while.  It was cold and windy, but there were people all along the beach.  I found this one brave sole setting up an umbrella.

At one point in my childhood, I wanted to be a marine biologist when I grew up.  I was fascinated by the ocean and the creatures living in it and wanted nothing better than to spend countless hours swimming with them.  I did not grow up to be a marine biologist, but I still love the ocean.  I decided to share some of that and took my children on a dolphin cruise.  On our way out of the bay, I noticed these two pelicans sitting on one of the navigation signs.

I love to walk along the beach in the morning or at night.  The crowds are usually not there, it’s quite and peaceful.  On one of our trips to Panama City Beach, my wife and I decided to take a nighttime stroll along the beach.  I thought it would be a good time for some quite photo time.  The wind was picking up and made for some interesting cloud movement.

I was walking on Cocoa Beach in Florida when I ran across these seagulls.  There were others that were flitting all around, but these were just standing there.  I guess they were waiting on something to happen.  I didn’t wait to see, but it must have been something good to get them to stop like that.

Footprints

I was in an ocean mood today and would have really liked to just jump in the car and go.  However, that did not happen.  Instead I decided to go through some of my old beach photos and came across this one.  It brought back the …Continue Reading Here…
