I had the pleasure of meeting several people who had some amazing cars at the local car shows this weekend. In my opinion this car had the most character. You can just look at the picture and feel the power. Car just aren’t made like they used to be. Maybe someday, I can restore one of the great old cars like this one.
Great site and great work, Daryl… While I didn’t have the 68 Malibu SS 396, I did have a 67 Caprice 2 door hardtop with the 396. Those were cars that would actually push you back in the seat… Smoke the tires and get rubber in all three gears with an AUTOMATIC tranny… 140 with about 1 1/2″ of gas pedal left, strong enough to break the tires loose even after a rolling start from 10 mph… Rat motors with Holly dual feed carb were awesome…
