Today’s Photo:  Ghosts of the Trail of Tears

In the early 1800’s many Native Americans were forced from their ancestral homelands and forced to move westward across the United States.  The move took approximately 10 years and thousands of Native American lives.  This forced move has been referred to as the Trail of Tears.  Many times, historical events are represented by artist through sculptures and monuments.  This waterfall in Chattanooga was created in representation of the Trail of Tears.  I stopped to take this photo and knew there had been people walking through the water.  However, I was surprised when I got home and saw that, instead of people, I captured ghosts walking the Trail of Tears.
