Today’s Photo: The Columbaria
The Georgia National Cemetery is located just west of Canton Georgia. It is situated on top of a hill overlooking Lake Allatoona and with a descent view of the east and sunrise. My goal several weeks ago was to get some sunrise photos at the cemetery. So, I got up early and drove through the dark to get there. When I got there, it was just as dawn was beginning. The fog was extremely heavy near the entrance of the cemetery and it was eirie to drive through. As I was taking the road around, out of the fog came these rows of walls. They were not very wide, certainly not enough for a full body, but long. I stopped by after the fog lifted just to see what it was. Each of the Columbaria had row after row of names. Not just any names, but the names of brave soldiers who served this great country. Many have given some; Some have given all.
