Indian Flats Falls

Indian Flats Falls (Great Smoky Mountain National Park)

On one of my recent adventures, I made it to Indian Flats Falls.  However, the story doesn’t start there… Several years ago, my dad and brothers had a great idea to take a hike in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on the Benton Mackaye Trail.  We would start on the eastern end of the park and traverse to the western end of the park and a little bit beyond.  That trip netted me a beautiful sunrise atop Mount Sterling.  Unfortunately, there was an injury that prevented us Click here for the rest of the story…

Goodbye Christmas Tree

Today’s Photo: Goodbye Christmas Tree

Over the years, I have had lots of fun shooting this Christmas Tree.  However, each year the family puts it up, the less the lights work and the branches are starting to get worn out.  I have a feeling that next year will bring a new tree.

The Sluice

Today’s Photo: The Sluice

There is a small park in Woodstock, Georgia called Olde Rope Mill Park where there are ruins of an old mill.  This was the sluice from the dam to the factory ruins.  You can still see the diversion gates in the wall of the sluice.  I made my way to the other side, which is the middle of the river by way of a small concrete whcih you can see in the distance.

I took a drive through some of the back roads of Alabama about a week ago.  My middle child rode with me and, of course, I had to stop a few times for photos.  What she did not know when we left, was that I brought along a camera for her to take some photos too.  This is not one of hers.  I’ll have to post some of them soon.

Police Lights

Today’s Photo: Police Lights

I took the family for a drive through the Holiday Lights at Veterans Park.  The drive through was pretty nice and the displays were pretty good.  This was one of my favorite.

The Ornament

I went to the Woodstock Christmas Jubilee Parade of Lights the other evening.  The temperature dropped after dark and we did not stay for the tree lighting.  However, I got a few shots around town before dark and some of the parade.

Lights and a Tree

Today’s Photo: Lights and a Tree

It snowed a little bit on Friday and continued into Saturday.  I could not resist going out and taking a few shots in the snow Friday before it got too dark.  This was with about 3 – 4 inches of snow.  We got another 3 – 4 after I took this photo.  The snow was so good, that we made a 7 foot snowman.  However, the temperature was right at 32 degrees and the snow was very wet and heavy, and the snowman fell down during the night.

Sony a7r:

I recently entered the world of full frame.  If I had known what I had been missing, I would have made the jump way before.  So far, there are a couple things that I wish were different shooting a mirrorless system, but the benefits way outweigh the cons.

You Gotta Be Kidding Me

Today’s Photo: The Boy

Between two girls and this boy, I haven’t had the time I used to have.  However, there is never a time that you can predict what he will do, say, or the look he will give you.  So, I couldn’t resist adding another photo of The Boy… Click Here to see…
