One of the coolest things about the Smithsonian museum system in Washington D.C. is that nearly all the buildings have at least one room with a gigantic dome.  Well, at least all the ones I saw.  The amount of work and engineering put into these is amazing.  I could spend several days at these buildings just looking up.  Not only are there exhibits to see, the buildings themselves are just as much an exhibit of the museum as the contents.
