Today’s Photo: Silent Gun
When I think of something happening 150 years ago, I think that is a long time. However, when you look at it as compared to the history of mankind, it is very recent history. On the other hand, for the United States that is not too long ago. 150 years ago was the first war of the modern age, a combination of medieval tactics and firearms that caused the loss of life on a massive scale and spanned four years. Now, 147 years after the end of the Civil War, there are many reminders and national battlefield parks established as a reminder of this war where the guns that were once so loud now sit silent.
