Today’s Photo: Hero’s Don’t Wear Capes
I must admit, I am a member of the comic book generation. I spent many days reading about Superman, Spiderman, the Incredible Hulk and the list goes on. The one thing that seems to run through all comics is that the hero wears some super costume, most of the time with a cape. However, as I grew and matured, I lost the boyhood fascination with the fantasy worlds and learned that real hero’s don’t wear capes, they wear body armor and helmets. The benches were empty the day I went through the Georgia National Cemetery and I was fortunate enough to spend time alone reflecting on what makes a person a true hero, but all to soon, I know they will fill and it will be to honor those who have filled this cemetery with headstones that have dates too close together inscribed upon them.
