To Shoot or Not

Today’s Photo: To Shoot or Not

I run across this problem sometimes.  I happen to be out around sunrise, or sunset and notice that it is turning out to have some great colors.  I am not always near some place that can make a great composition.  So, the problem is, do you settle for a mediocre shot and attempt to maybe photoshop out some elements that you really don’t want, or do you just sit back and enjoy the show and pass on the photos?  This is one of those and I could not find a good place for the shot.  I settled with pulling off the side of the road and could not get in a place without the power lines in time.

Clouds and More Clouds

With all of this wired weather, the one thing we have not lacked has been clouds.  That has been the problem also.  Either there are so many that it is just a sheet of grey, or the skies are completely empty.  This was during one of those transition periods and did not last long.  Just behind this came the rain and grey.

It’s that time of the year again.  Everything is blooming and making pretty landscapes and many photography opportunities.  Along with the bi-annual allergies, rain and general weather havoc.  This shot was actually in the butterfly exhibit at the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga.  I can look at it and dream of what the blooming landscapes are going to bring this year.

It was a little windy the other day and I saw the flag flapping gently in the breeze.  I could not help but take a few shots.  I have been getting away from HDR lately and this is one of those that I processed without it.  Nothing like expanding the abilities.

A Last Winter Sunrise

Today’s Photo: A Last Winter Sunrise

According to the weather people, spring is finally going to make a stay… maybe.  This was one of the final sunrises I took during the winter season.  This morning, there was tons of frost all over and created a nice light white coating.  Not nearly as good as a dusting of snow, which we did not get this year… again.  May spring and summer bring some good morning and evening shows.

Mr. Ed

Today’s Photo: Mr. Ed

How many people out there remember the talking horse, Mr. Ed.  I’m not sure there are that many left.  I found this one, not Mr. Ed, the other day driving home.  There were several horses in the pasture and one foal.  The foal was running around the other horses in circles.  I stopped to get a few shots and this one walked up to the fence.  He started moving his mouth.  I don’t know if he was trying to talk or just wanted an apple.  However, if he was trying to talk, it had to have been something about the foal running in circles.
