Boiling Clouds

Today’s Photo:  Boiling Clouds

I ran across an image the other day of tornado tracks over the past 50 years.  Some very fascinating information if you live in the Southeast or Midwest.  If you live in the Northwest, there is not much to worry about other than snow and [Continue Reading…]

Today’s Photo:  Wells Fargo Boise

The downfall of traveling light is that you have to decide between extra clothes and camera gear.  I found myself in this situation in Idaho.  I decided to take just the 18 – 105 and make the best that I could.  I really wanted to get in a little …Continue Reading Here…

Endless Turns

Today’s Photo:  Endless Turns

This walkway goes from the Hunter Museum down to the river front in Chattanooga.  It is not a trek for the faint of heart as this is not the majority of the walkway.  When the path gets to the bottom, there is a small amphitheater under the bridge.  I ran across a musician playing …Continue Reading Here…

Waiting for Fall

Today’s Photo:  Waiting for Fall

About this time every year, I start dreaming of winter.  It definitely can’t get here fast enough.  I am not a warm weather type person, so this summer has been horrible.  I was real excited when we got a little taste of fall about a week ago.  It put me in a good mood for [Continue Reading…]

Today’s Photo:  Rome Baptist Temple

This was another church that I found on my short trip to Rome.  I was fortunate that the clouds cooperated for the few photos I was able to get.  Hopefully, the next time I get over there, it will be the same.  There were so …Continue Reading Here…

Today’s Photo:  The Castle Garden

There are not many castles in the United States.  In fact, there are no “real” castles if you think of them as having been built in the medieval times.  The offices of the Smithsonian Institute occupy one of them on the National Mall [Continue Reading…]

Today’s Photo:  Old Stone House

This old stone house sits in the middle of one of the first battlefields of the American Civil War.  On the top of the ridge beyond the house, the first bullets flew.  When the battle started, the battle was treated like a Sunday afternoon outing with many from [Continue Reading…]

Clouds Over a Barn

Today’s Photo:  Clouds Over a Barn

I spend a fair amount of time driving through the “country”.  One of the things you find frequently out here are barns.  No farm would be complete without one.  I see this one nearly every day and sometimes it calls to me to stop and take a photo.  Maybe it is just the clouds talking to me and the barn gets in the way.  It doesn’t matter much because the photo would not be the same without all of it.

Time for the Liberty Bell

Today’s Photo:  Time for the Liberty Bell

The famous Liberty Bell was cast in the late 1700’s and includes the inscription “Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof”  (wikipedia).  It was not until the late 1800’s that it became famous as the “Liberty Bell”.  In downtown Marietta is a …Continue Reading Here…

Indian in the Hall

Today’s Photo:  Indian in the Hall

History has to be my favorite subject.  In that line of thought, I have been trying to take my children to as many museums and history sites that I can make it to.  Over the summer, we went to the Bartow History Museum and the Booth Western Museum.  I was not real impressed with the …Continue Reading Here…
