Today’s Photo:  Water Fall Colors

Another shot from Fall Creek Falls.  This the top cascade before the hundreds of feet of drop.  I was walking along the trail around the rim when I caught a glimpse of it through the trees.

Just Hanging Out

Today’s Photo:  Just Hanging Out

I believe that the best way to improve in anything in life is to identify an area that you find takes you out of your comfort zone and immerse yourself in it.  For me lately, that has been taking candid and “life” portraits.  I had tons of fun with this [Continue Reading…]

I have shared many photos from my time at Old Car City USA.  I was going through them the other day and noticed that I had not shared any of the facilities.  The majority have been of vehicles.  There are several buildings around the …Continue Reading Here…

Today’s Photo:  The Roadside Falls

On the way home from Fall Creek Falls, we were driving down Highway 111 just outside Dunlap Tennessee.  There was a small pullout next to the road with a couple picnic benches.  It was not the picnic benches that …Continue Reading Here…

Today’s Photo:  One Small Step

June 20, 1969, the human race was changed forever.  Neil Armstrong took mankind’s first steps on the moon, and big steps those were.  With those steps, Armstrong became an American legend and a hero to every child.  It also capped off the space race between the …Continue Reading Here…

Today’s Photo (Video): The Stars Over Pikeville

Several weeks ago, I spent a weekend camping near Pikeville, Tennessee.  One night while we were there, I decided to set the camera up for a time lapse.  Due to the extremely high winds, I set it close to the ground with the tripod legs spaced very wide.  I was worried the camera would tip over, or worse, a branch from one of the nearby trees would take it out.  Fortunately, everything survived and I turned out with a descent time lapse.

Aptly named Church Street in Marietta is lined with churches like this.  This is the St. James Episcopal church.  I was intrigued by the architecture of this church.  There are not many older architecture style buildings in this area.

Another Shot of the Observatory

Today’s Photo:  Another Shot of the Observatory

Last night, Friday, was a special presentation at the Tellus Museum.  The presentation was on lasers and light in general.  However, as with most of the special events, the museum stayed open late with the observatory being open a little while longer.  We watched the last music and laser show in the planetarium and took our time leaving.  This made us next to last in line to see the telescope in the observatory.  After I finished, I had just enough time to run back to the car, get the camera and take this shot.

One place we have not spent a great amount of time at in Chattanooga is the Children’s Museum.  There is not a whole lot at the museum, but the interactiveness of it makes for a fun time.  This staircase leads to the top of an observation tower which sort of overlooks downtown Chattanooga.

The Eagle Hunter

Having museums near home is great.  You can go visit them when you want and don’t have to cram a whole lot into a limited amount of time for one visit.  One of our local museums is the Booth Western Art museum.  It’s almost like going back to [Continue Reading…]
